If I could, I'd give this place more stars!!! Absolutely delicious. We ordered the rib platter with potato salad and baked beans. The potato salad tastes homemade. Big chunks of potatoes. Wow. It was good. We also had macaroni and cheese was pretty good. Maybe needs just a tad more flavor. And the French fries were cooked to perfection. Very good. Atmosphere was nice. And the young lady at the counter was very nice. Very sweet girl. The prices are not bad. It's worth every penny.

Had an awesome time here! Workers greeted us right away and told us how to order. The food was amazing! I had baby back ribs and wife had pulled pork. Sauces were great and the workers were friendly and helpful. If we come back here someday we will definitely eat there again!

Alabama Bbq. We ate in once and picked up once. not sure which was better because they were both awesome. Very tasty sauces, friendly service and a modern feel. I will be back anytime I am in Gulf Shores.

Husband ordered pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, I ordered sliders (one pork, one chicken) with potato salad and we shared wild fries. It was all amazing, the pork has great flavor, the coleslaw has a peppery kick and the potato salad was great to cool off your mouth from spicy sauce. My husband tried all four sauces, I tried original and sweet and we both agreed sweet was the best. Staff was friendly, restaurant is clean and the food is amazing.

I'm from Cincinnati and coming from a place that has amazing BBQ I'm blown away with how awesome it was! The potato salad is like nothing I've ever had before. Interesting and DELICIOUS!! My boyfriend had the wings and I tried a bite and it was also so delicious. The buffalo sauce was spicy but not overwhelming. Definitely a must try!!!!

What can I say? Awesome food, good prices and great service. A definite stop for anyone who's sick of seafood or wants great barbeque. I had the wings with Mac n cheese and coleslaw, all of it was delicious! I also tried the pulled pork which was very good, there original barbeque sauce is very good as well, and lord have mercy they have the BEST potato salad I've ever had! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Expected more after reading reviews. - Not what I had hoped for. Only Pork - and Sausage. ((((No brisket)))). No beef - period. Barbecue ???? Sauces are several to choose from / try. But that's not why I came to a barbecue house. Food was juicy but served on a small kiddy hamburger bun???? Not right. Portions good. But simple sandwich, chips and a drink for lunch at over $11 is asking a bit much. I would eat again, but only if I wanted a "Pulled Pork Sandwich".

The food was excellent I just didn't five star because I have had some amazing Bbq. We got the sampler to try a variety of what they had to offer. Our favorites were the hot wings and the ribs. There was a great crispy and salty exterior to the wings and the ribs were loaded with flavor. The whiskey sauce was amazing. This is not a sit down and order from a server type of restaurant if that is what you're looking for. Overall it was a great find in a highly commercialized area.

As a local I finally tried this place today for the first time & it's amazing! Also if they have the staff on hand, they will deliver! I had the ribs & pulled pork with baked beans & Mac n cheese! Def a new favorite!

We ordered chickens, ribs, and sausage from here for my birthday dinner for 12, and the food was fabulous. I had been worried because I hadn't been super impressed last year when we ate in the restaurant, but the takeout was great. We didn't order any sides, so I can't speak to those...

One the only restaurants in this area that is not seafood or pizza. I like good BBQ and it didn't disappoint. I got pulled pork and smoked wings with cole slaw and mac 'n cheese. The whiskey sauce is the best but all of their BBQ sauces are good. The place is clean and nice inside. There is some limited seating. You walk up to a counter to order. The only draw back is that it's a tad expensive for lunch, but probably comparable for a touristy area.

Walked here out of desire for anything but seafood or pizza. Nice clean little place with some decent bbq. The best I have had, no, but it was pretty good. Got ribs and half chicken, she had the pulled pork. Let's start with sauces, which for me make or break a bbq joint. Sweet was the best, but we liked the mix of sweet and tangy. Spicy was more just bbq sauce with hot sauce, kinda weird. Ribs were good, a few were a bit dry, but all had good flavor. Would skip the half chicken, nothing special here, probably should stick to pulled chicken. Potato salad was not bad, one of the better I have had recently. Don't expect the best BBQ you have ever had and you won't be disappointed. Nice, clean, solid food, good service and finally something other than pizza or seafood in the area.

Really great place. New owners, husband and wife (to be). Working hard, making an excellent product. This place is doing it right. Editing this post: Went back again, as my kids kept asking to do ribs again during our vacation. I loved it again the second time. Had wings also, and they didn't disappoint. ***a must visit if you want BBQ from this area. So good. Even just for a beer and some beef as an afternoon appetizer.

5/31/15 After reading other locals' reviews, my friend and I finally made our first visit to Hog Wild Beach & BBQ. I like its new color - much better than the previous owner's yellow. The wonderful smell of their BBQ hit our noses the moment we walked in. We were greeted immediately from the order counter. The owners/chefs, T.J. and Caitlin, did a great job renovating the place; the interior was clean and uncluttered; there were 7 tables plus seating at the bar. We decided on the Big T's Sampler in order to taste most of their smoked meats. As we waited, there were quite a few takeout orders being picked up. So I was surprised that our number was called in less than 15 minutes and it was a definitely feast for two people. The Big T's Sampler came with pecan-wood smoked ribs, sausage, pulled pork, crispy smoked chicken & 3 sides (beans, fries & potato salad) plus toast. We got some of each homemade BBQ sauce to figure out our preferences. Our smoked meats were served piping hot and were delicious! I absolutely loved TJ's crispy smoked chicken and Caitlin's tater salad. Their fries were great dipped in Nana's Sweet Q. My friend preferred Original & Hog's 911 mixed together. Overall I enjoyed their Whiskey BBQ sauce the most. Their prices were reasonable - about $25 for Big T's Sampler (tax included). Call ahead if you need to feed a group; T.J. smokes them fresh everyday so when they're out, they're out like the sign says. Kudos to the chefs! We'll be back! 6/5/15 For 5 days since, I've been thinking of their excellent BBQ so I'm not ashamed to say this is my 2nd visit within a week. Went together with my hubby for a late lunch and he ordered a turkey & crispy chicken plate and a double crispy chicken plate for me. It was busy today but food was ready in less than 15 minutes again. The chicken was served Burn-Your-Fingers HOT! I had to wait about 10 minutes before I could pick it up. When I went to break off a leg, the bone just came right off! The meat was perfectly crispy on the outside and moist & tender in the middle. We saved the breasts to make smoked chicken tacos or quesadillas tomorrow. It was warm inside this afternoon because of the summer heat or it could have been due to their 9-1-1 sauce! This is definitely our favorite BBQ place now; sorry Down South BBQ takeout.

This place has new owners and a new menu and I tell you what this is some of the best Damn bbq I've ever had and I use to work at the shed bbq joint in Ocean Springs Ms. They put sausage in the beans and the potato salad is an original recipe. also if you like sauce they have multiple different options for sauce lovers.

New owners! Amazing BBQ! I have to be careful with Pork but I've been here time and time again and the food is always great and doesn't bother me! I highly recommend their pulled pork, smoked wings and ribs. They also have real southern sweet tea, which I also love. Just changed their hours 12pm to 9 pm Monday thru Saturday. New photos are needed on here for this place. Friendly staff too! Great for a sit down or for take out! Family friendly and if you wanna adult beverage they can hook you up on that too.

Actually pretty good but I miscalculated and landed here when I was looking for a sit down dinner. It's a counter pickup basket of food place that caters to the beach crowd and the water park across the street. Really not bad for that purpose. $10 got me a pulled pork sandwich and fries. Add on only $2.5 per beer.

Stopped by this little place while on vacay with my mom in Gulf Shores, AL. Being that I am from Texas and have eaten at Franklins in Austin before it was cool to eat at Franklins many many times, I tried to limit my ethnocentric bbq attitude and sample some Bama que. Granted, it was a seriously touristy spot, but Hog Wild is alright! I asked the cute girl behind the counter ( who I later heard her telling another patron that she was the owner) what there claim to fame was. Wings, ribs and 1/2 chicken were suggested so I ordered the latter two. I asked for the sweet sauce after sampling tangy and spicy as well. The meat was served with a decent dry rub but i felt it couldbhave been a little saltier. The chicken had a great smoke and a really nice crust. Stayed pretty moist throughout. Not a huge fan of dry rub on ribs, but the flavor was pretty nice. Ribs should fall off the bone in your mouth, not when you pick them up off the plate. It ended up in piles on my plate. Sides were nice; baked beans with sausage and potato salad tasted like my nanas...nice! My mom loved the pulled pork sandwich and sweet tea. Hog Wild is probably not the best representation on Bama bbq, but a nice bite in a popular area in Gulf Shores.

Great food! My son is a pulled pork connoisseur and he said it's some of the best he's had! It's hard to please everyone in my family but we all walked away happy & full with this choice!

My family and I were looking forward to eating the BBQ ribs that they are famous for so we went for dinner. After settling in we were then informed that there were no ribs available. This was a huge disappoint and had we known this before ordering drinks we would have gone elsewhere. How can a BBQ restaurant that offers ribs on special not have their speciality at the beginning of dinner and not mention this the moment you arrive at the restaurant. The service was pleasant but the food was nothing to write home about.

Great place in Gulf Shores to grab barbecue. We had pulled pork sandwiches, fries, and frickles for lunch. Very delicious! The sauces were very good and frickles done just right.

We love this place. Friendly people. Outstanding bbq. Cheap beer. Ribs to die for and awesome pulled pork. Tasty sides. Note that this is southern bbq- no beef (for all you Texans looking for brisket). Go with the original sauce; it's perfect. Do yourself a favor - take a break from the seafood and eat here.

Our experience with Hog Wild was exceptional. We had them cater our wedding rehearsal dinner/get together with 30 or so people. Caitlin was awesome to work with. She knew her stuff and was able to advise on what and how much. The food itself was amazing. My personal favorites were the smoked wings and the potato salad. Everyone loved the Mac n cheese and pulled pork/chicken too. It was an awesome experience and would definitely go with them again!!

Very good food. The new owners have really improved everything and are very nice people. The turkey and the wings are my current favorites. I also enjoy the very original and tangy cole slaw. I definitely recommend this place.

We have picked up here twice this summer and have really enjoyed it both times. Pulled pork and whole chicken then a family platter. The pulled pork was tender but not overly wet or fatty. Lots of flavor. The chicken was great both times but stellar when whole. Get the cole slaw. Just get it. Mac n Cheese was a little different but everyone thought it was good. We live in New Orleans and are starting to have some great options for BBQ. My favorite there is McClure's. I rank this very close. Also, $1 Bud cans. !!!!!!

This was the absolute best BBQ that we have ever eaten! A few months earlier I had read an article about how the owners actually ended up with the restaurant after surviving a deadly tornado in Tuscaloosa a few years before. It struck my interest and I told my husband that we should eat there the next time we were in Gulf Shores as we had family members that also survived another deadly tornado that same day in another part of the state. The employees were extremely friendly the minute we opened the door. I met one of the owners and she was very friendly as well. She actually had her own sleeves rolled up and was preparing food as well. As I said earlier, the food was absolutely delicious. The ribs were thick and full of meat and were so tender, and the pulled pork was awesome! They had several different homemade sauces to choose from and we tried all of them. They were great! The potato salad and coleslaw were out of this world as well. We left very full from the generous helpings and told them that we would definitely be back! Our truck broke down as we were leaving and one of their awesome employees actually helped us get it taken care of. Really friendly and kind people that really know their BBQ! Wish we could give them 10 stars!

This was a pleasant surprise during a recent trip to Gulf Shores for the Hangout Fest. Switching things up from prior years, we decided to give this place a shot for our evening meal for the house upon arriving Gulf Shores. This was conveniently located near the grocery store where we had stocked up on provisions for the weekend, but wanted to have dinner taken care of. Hog Wild BBQ met the challenge admirably! The woman working behind the counter gave us some great guidance when we were indecisive on some items. After some discussion, the order was placed and one beer later it was ready! Talk about quick turnaround time. We ordered pulled pork, potato salad, and cole slaw. One knock on this place we found was if you are going to be doing steady to-go business, you may want to sell rolls for making sandwiches. We were able to pick some up at Waves on the way to our house, but would have been nice. As I recall, we may have been able to purchase them for $1 a roll, but the woman assisting us wisely suggested that we pick them up elsewhere. While waiting for our order, we were able to sit at the small bar area and have a drink. There is a dining area inside and a small outdoor seating area if you are interested in sticking around for your meal. The BBQ drew very positive reviews from the others in the house. The sides were great too. They provided us with several types of BBQ sauce to our order ranging from sweet to spicy. We all agreed that this place could become part of our Hangout tradition!

Good, not great food. Good, not great service. Good, not great prices. All in all - good, not great. For a touristy beach town, though, a safe choice. They have a bar, and were kid friendly.

Not a sit down restaurant! It works more like a deli but the food is so good you won't give a damn! The sides were limited but the entree was too finger lickin good to complain. I don't live around here and I'm seriously dreading going home because I won't be able to eat those ribs again. It's a very cool establishment and everyone that works there is all smiles - they seem to be enjoying themselves which is nice. Definitely go here if you like meat!

The best smoked ribs, smoked crispy chicken and baked beans ever!!!! The small store front is very deceiving .... It's clean and the food is GREAT!!!

I wanted to give more stars because the food is really good. Confusion of the service was a problem. We grabbed a table when we went in only to sit for about 10 minutes before realizing it was a walk up and order place. Staff just ignored us until we asked. No "order here" sign. We had a mixture of crispy chicken platter to pork platter to smoked chicken salad. All was good but wife thought the chicken salad was a lettuce salad with chicken. It is not. Fries were nothing but small pieces.

Some of the best BBQ my husband and I have had. We're from Texas, so it feels like a sacrilege since there's no brisket here, but the chicken and sausage are impeccable.

This place was a welcomed surprise on my trip to Gulf Shores. I'm an avivd BBQ eater and this looked liked my best option. We'll this place did not disappoint. I had to make a second trip here during my vacation. The pulled pork was perfect. My wife had the ribs and they were excellent. All the sides we had were made from scratch. I'm from Houston and I eat BBQ every week and the place was legit. They don't do Brisket and that was to be expected. That is traditionally a a Texas thing. This guy from Frisco Texas that wrote a review, doesn't know want he's talking about. Try this place out! It is a true gem!

We needed a break from seafood and we came across Hog Wild on Yelp. We loved it! Prices were great, especially for such a touristy area. Loved the mac'n'cheese and baked beans! Very nice staff and nice atmosphere. Definitely give them a try! Also, it was Veteran's Day, so we received 20% off our bill!

We had an excellent experience with Hog Wild catering! Caitlin was a huge help with my order - very friendly and easy to work with. Our event was a large family birthday party on the beach, on the 4th of July. Caitlin and her team were amazing. The set up was quick, and when a storm blew in they took everything down in an instant and delivered it to our condo. And the food was absolutely outstanding. We had the pulled pork, pulled chicken, and ribs, a sampling of all the sauces, and a sampling of all the sides. The meat was tender and the sauces were delicious. Hog Wild gave us a fantastic experience!

Food was decent. Seems like it (I had the ribs) was cooked earlier in the day and had been sitting out for a while (they were slightly cold and dry). Margarita was good but expensive, $6.25 for a plastic small solo cup. Mac and cheese was yummy! Fries were good (a bit over seasoned, but good flavor).
